Japanese Knotweed Warning

Updated: Feb 9, 2021

In the summer of 2019 two examples of Japanese Knotweed were discovered in the Methodist chapel graveyard. This plant is an introduced species and is vigorous and very potent. If left untreated it can undermine foundations and is very difficult and expensive to eliminate. Its presence may reduce property values.

Happily these plants were successfully treated by injecting SBK Tree Stump Killer by syringe directly into the plant stem just above the roots. Unfortunately other specimens exist in Griffydam in private gardens. If you discover this plant please act now as if you ignore it you will have major problems.
