Most residents will have heard of Griffy Well. It is actually a spring and was the main water source for hundreds of years until 1939 when piped water was connected to the village.
The spring is owned by the Parish Council and comprises a triangular area of land with a narrow access track leading down from Bottom Road to the spring.
The Community Group of volunteers has maintained the spring for a fee from the Parish Council for a few years now as it was being neglected by the previous Parish Council contractors.
It would be good, given the age profile in the village, if younger people could also volunteer. If you have an hour to spare, roughly once a quarter, to do some practical energetic work then contact Carole on 07914097907 and we can set up a WhatsApp group to organise the autumn tidy up.
